Assist w/ all areas of newscast production including content selection and research, newscast timing and writing. Field produce spot news stories and special segments. KSAZ/KUTP TV – ELC Director
Use Sony ELC automation, MV8000G video switcher and associated peripherals. Work w/ Producers to assemble show rundowns in I-News, camera blocking and talent placement, set lighting and design, props, audio support and strategy sessions and post show debriefing with production techs. Use iNews computer, ELC playlist viewer, Avid Command, ISQ playout of Chyron Hyper-X and Xclyps, Vinten Fusion camera control, Wheatstone audio console, and the Sony 8000 video switcher. Maintain manual “director” and/or “Technical Director” skills in the event of catastrophic failure. Perform Shot Box function, use Cue folders, use Icon manager application to video levels and routing, control switcher macros, and trigger/effect/control robotic cameras. Floor direct as needed. Work professionally as part of a cohesive team within specific time constraints. HS diploma (or equivalent) req. College deg preferred. Varied shifts, OT, weekends & holidays. KSAZ/KUTP - Account Executive
Duties: Maintain and improve existing client list, generate new business on FOX and MyNet duopoly stations and websites to generate significant revenue and achieve sales budget. Proficient negotiation skills utilizing NSI LPM ratings and qualitative info., strong written and oral communication and presentation skills req. Requirements: 4 yr College degree or equivalent media sales experience in a major market pref. Major network affiliation pref. Proven success with generating and maintaining new business and experience with major sports programming sales. req. Prior exp with WideOrbit and OneDomain pref. Candidate must be detailed oriented, resourceful, team player, reliable and a self-starter. Must have or be willing to obtain and drive reliable transportation and have a valid AZ driver’s license. KSAZ/KUTP TV – Sales Assistant
Provide admin support to the Sales management staff and Account Executives. Duties incl. writing and checking orders, proposals, maintaining organizational systems, general office requirements, assisting with special projects. Investigate order discrepancies and credit memos. Varied hours and OT required. Strong written/oral comm skills req. Strong PC skills and proficiency w/ Microsoft Office. Requires excellent attention to detail, and accuracy. Must be able to interact professionally with a variety of people and work efficiently and courteously w/ station personnel. 1 yr exp. in admin position req. HS diploma or equivalent req. TECHNICIAN – monitor, alert, and report to management and coworkers on the health and operational status of all relevant infrastructures. Provide technical support and guidance to coworkers, including but not limited to Local Network Operation Center [NOC] personnel and IT and Broadcast engineering personnel at remote locations. Diagnose and perform remedial actions within area of subject matter expertise. Aid in quality and performance monitoring to ensure that deployed systems are meeting the needs of the business. Assist with various data/content management activities like system backups, restores, exports and imports, archiving, and storage administration. Requires work after hours and/or ONCALL when needed. Practical experience with Windows Server and Windows Client platforms. Experience maintaining Active Directory. Systems administration/engineering skills in a large heterogeneous technical environment. Experience with video encoding and video delivery systems. Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking. Experience trouble shooting and assisting in the repair of complex problems. Experience monitoring computing, storage, and rework resources. Able to support multiple, geographically dispersed locations. Maintain detailed and organized records of activities. Must be able to follow defined processes and procedures, and must be capable of converging IT-based experience to a broadcast environment. Quality and detail oriented skills along with the ability to effectively communicate with others. Strong analytical skills. Must be able to logically isolate and resolve technical problem. Results oriented towards timeliness, accuracy, and the attainment of demanding service levels. Team player but able to work independently as required.
