GILBERT, Ariz. - More details are emerging in the case of more than 20 dogs that died at a Gilbert boarding facility.

Investigators searching the boarding house last week and a search warrant has been unsealed. Now pet owners are reacting to what investigators found.

The search warrant details interactions between the owners of Green Acre boarding and the pet owners.  At least six of them were told their dogs had run away when they were actually dead.

We were there when Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputies searched the home. They brought a forensic electrician to look at the home's wiring and an air flow expert.

According to the search warrant, they also seized dozens of items, including phones, computers and files.

"It just makes us sick to think our dogs were there for a couple of weeks and our dogs were just locked up," said Shannon Gillette, who lost two dogs at the Green Acre boarding facility.

Gillette was at Disneyland with her family when they got a call claiming their dogs had run away when they were both dead.

The search warrant shows many pet owners were given a similar story, including one who was told that story at 9:37 on June 21, hours after the deputies arrived at the home and other pet owners had already picked up their dogs.

"It excites us to see the facts 'cause we haven't believed any of their lies from day one," said Gillette.

MCSO says the room where the dogs were kept measured about 9 feet by 12 feet.  It had three doors and one of them was sealed shut with caulk so the smell of the dogs wouldn't travel to other rooms.

"None of the dog owners were ever told about this secret room.. shown the room.. we were told that out dogs would hang out with the family and they would play fetch in the yard," said Gillette.

According to the warrant, when dropping off her dog, one of the pet owners was told "If there were any problems, 'to call Jeff Flake's office', in a joking manner."

We reached out to the attorney for Green Acre's owners.  We didn't get a response.
