PLANO, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Investigators looking for child pornography on a southwest suburban Plano man’s computer ended up charging the man with creating pornographic images with a local child, the Beacon News is reporting.

Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis said Keith Hirsch, 51, is facing more than 30 charges stemming from a joint investigation by Plano police and the Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Weis said Hirsch appeared on investigators’ radar when they developed a lead that he might be in possession of child pornography.

A search warrant was executed at Hirsch’s home in Plano, and Hirsch was charged with 30 counts of possession of child pornography.

Weis said during their search that investigators uncovered something they found to be suspicious.

“Some images appeared to be different,” Weis said. “We checked it out, and found a possible local victim.”

Hirsch was subsequently charged with two counts of production of child pornography involving a victim under the age of 13, criminal sexual abuse and two counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

Hirsch was arrested on Tuesday. His total bail was set at $300,000. His next court date is June 23.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children assisted in the investigation.
