PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A family's home was destroyed after a fire broke out near 19th Avenue and Thunderbird.

Firefighters say seven people live at the home, but only five were inside when the fire started around 3 a.m. They were all able to make it out safe by the time crews arrived.

One person was taken to a hospital with minor smoke inhalation.

The house is completely destroyed and the charred remains of the residents' vehicles could be seen in the driveway.

Neighbors say they heard explosions coming from the home and could feel the heat radiating from it when they ran outside.

Firefighters believe the fire may have started in the garage or carport area.
