PHOENIX (AP) - A Phoenix man has entered a plea deal in the case of a wrong-way freeway crash that killed a New York woman last year.

Benjamin Kuzelka pleaded no contest to second-degree murder and aggravated assault Wednesday in Maricopa County Superior Court.

Kuzelka was initially also indicted on endangerment and aggravated DUI.

He was arrested Nov. 7, 2013 after being released from a hospital where he was treated for injuries from the Oct. 6 accident that killed 55-year-old Mary A. Boysman of Oswego, N.Y.

Boysman was a passenger in an SUV that was struck head-on by a vehicle driving the wrong direction on State Route 51.

The driver of the SUV was seriously injured and hospitalized for days.

Kuzelka is set to appear for sentencing Aug. 15.
