PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

A priest is expected to fully recover and return to his work after an attack at a downtown Phoenix church last week.  The church, which is holding Sunday Mass services, was the scene of a deadly shooting of a priest and an assault on another.

The Mother of Mercy Mission is holding Sunday Mass at 7 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Parishioners have been in mourning since the Wednesday night attack, which left the Rev. Kenneth Walker dead and the Rev. Joseph Terra in critical but stable condition.  On Sunday the church says Rev. Terra is expected to make a full recovery, and is expected to return to his work at the Mother of Mercy Mission.

Phoenix Police are searching for a suspect described as white, male and between the ages of 40 and 49 years old.

Walker served as assistant pastor at the church.

The church also announced a fund to help pay for Walker's funeral expenses. So far, the online fund has received more than $34,000 in donations.
