MT. CLEMENS, Mich. (WJBK) - The man accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend's two year old son was found guilty Tuesday. Ronald Anthony DiMambro Jr. was found guilty of First Degree Felony Murder and First Degree Child Abuse in the death of 2-year-old Damian Sutton.

Closing arguments in the case wrapped up in the afternoon a jury took about 30 minutes to come to the decision.

The murder count carries a sentence of mandatory life imprisonment without parole. The child abuse count is punishable by a sentence up to and including life imprisonment.

DiMambro, 27, of Washington Township, was babysitting Damian on August 21, 2013 when he subjected the 2-year-old's skull to blunt force trauma. The child was rushed to Henry Ford Macomb Hospital and later to Children's Hospital where doctors worked without success to save his life.

Damian died from the injuries a week later.

DiMambro will be sentenced July 17.
