TEMPE, Ariz. - An alleged murder suspect was found dead in a stolen truck early Friday morning.

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu says 33-year-old John Brazel shot himself in the head early Friday morning as deputies confronted him at a utility site near Coolidge.

According to Babeu, the chase began when Marana police spotted a pickup stolen by Brazel.

Babeu says officers lost Brazel when he drove at speeds over 110 mph.

Brazel then tried hiding his vehicle at the utility site, but security guards spotted it and called authorities.

Tempe police say Charla Faust was killed by Brazel, her estranged boyfriend.  He also is accused of shooting a neighbor who tried to intervene.

"But he wanted her dead because she was trying to leave him, she left him, she kicked him out in March," said Danni Faust.

Since March, Danni Faust said that Brazel was stalking Charla Faust and her kids.

Charla Faust worked as a security guard at a local casino; she had been in a relationship with Brazel for more than five years.

Danni Faust says her sister had an order of protection against him because he had hurt her before.

Tempe Police had been looking for Brazel since the shooting at her condo near Rural and Guadalupe.

A small memorial with the words "We will always love you," is at the condo where Charla Faust was killed.

"But he's broken my family; she was coming back to us after four or five long years, she was finally coming back," said Danni Faust.
