PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A San Tan Valley mom battling cancer has her wedding dress preserved as a gift. But when it was time to pick it up, the dress was gone.

The couple now says they are willing to buy it back from whoever may have it.

Nobody seems to know what went wrong.

Cori and Brian Tyler got married in 2004 and late last year she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

"It has been really rough and just chemotherapy treatments and everything and my mom wanted to do something special so she went to get my dress cleaned," said Cori Tyler

But when it was time pick up the dress from the dry cleaners the dress was gone.

"I was devasted. We dropped it off on a Thursday after a chemotherapy treatment, and we were supposed to pick it up on another Thursday and when my mom called and said that they did not have it and then Ray called me I couldn't even talking to him I just started crying," she said.

The store's owner is not sure what happened to the dress. He has compensated the couple, checked second hand stores and even called customers over the past few months who could've picked up the dress by mistake.

"They have gone above and beyond what I could expect," said Tyler.

But the couple says this is not about compensation; they just want the dress back.

"Going through cancer you loose a lot of yourself and to her it one more thing that she lost," said Brian Tyler.

Brian Tyler scoured websites and posted on social media, but it has been about nine weeks and still no sign of the dress.

"I even put on there that I did not care how they got the dress I am willing to by it back," said Brian.

"It is not just a wedding dress for me. It something that I wanted to pass to my daughter it is something that we used to make their blessing gowns. It holds more than anything to me it is more than sentimental," said Cori.

Even the dry cleaner has offered to buy the dress back from someone who may have purchased it somewhere.

The couple says they are not interested in getting anyone in trouble; they just want the dress back.
