Mom finds weed stashed inside pocket of son's new jeans

EASTPOINTE, Mich. (WJBK) - A mother in Eastpointe says she found a bag of marijuana in pants she purchased at a popular retail chain for her 9-year-old son.

Simona Green bought the jeans from the Target in Harper Woods for her son to wear on Easter. She found the substance when she reached her hand into one of the pockets.

She tells FOX 2's Andrea Isom she contacted management at the Target location, but says they didn't seem surprised and kind of shrugged off the issue.

Green can't help but think what would have happened if she had not found the bag and her son went to school with it.

"He probably would have been expelled; I would have been in jail; my husband would have been in jail," she says. "Nobody would believe this story."

Isom reached out to Target's corporate office and received this response from corporate spokesperson Evan Lapiska: "We prefer to work with our guests directly, and guests can contact Guest Relations at 1-800-440-0680 to discuss any claims or concerns."

Green also called police and turned in the evidence.
