Man Shoots Self In NJ Hospital's Emergency Room Lobby

Police are at the scene of a reported suicide attempt that involved a man shooting himself in the lobby of the emergency room at a Gloucester County hospital.

The incident occurred at 11:41 a.m. at Inspira Hospital in Woodbury, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.

Detectives say the self-inflicted gunshot occurred in the emergency room's lobby.

The man wounded in the apparent suicide attempt was transferred to the trauma unit of Cooper Medical Center in Camden.

The hospital is secure, and the gun was recovered, officials say. There were no evacuations or lockdowns at the hospital.
