Atlanta Police search for attempted abductors

ATLANTA, Ga. -

Authorities are investigating two similar abduction attempts in southwest and southeast Atlanta. 

The latest attempt happened on Tuesday morning near Long Middle School. According to police, an 8th grade student was accosted by a man in a red car with tinted windows while she walked to school. The student says the man followed her for a while and asked a number of questions.

On Monday, a 17-year-old student reported because accosted by a man in a gray mini-van near Washington High School. The student said the man pulled up beside her asked where she was going and claimed to have been asked to pick the student up from school, by her parents.

Both men were described as black males, in their 50's or 60's. Police are searching for both vehicles described in these incidents.

Atlanta Police are not sure if these two incidents are connected but city-wide lookouts have been issued on both cars.
