4 UGA football players arrested

ATHENS, Ga. -

Athens-Clarke County authorities arrested four University of Georgia football players Monday night on theft charges.

The suspects were identified as: S Carlos "Tray" Matthews, DE Jonathan Taylor, OLB James DeLoach and SE Uriah LeMay.

According to the Athens-Clarke County Sheriff's website, the four have been charged with multiple counts of Theft by Deception.

The four were released on bond shortly after their arrest.

Head football coach Mark Richt said he is "aware of the situation and it will be handled in an appropriate way."

University of Georgia football is set to begin spring practice on Tuesday afternoon.
