Firefighters pull infant, girl, 8, from fire

Posted: Updated:

NEW YORK (AP) - An infant boy and an 8-year-old girl were saved from a burning Brooklyn building by firefighters, including one responding to his first fire.

The children were sleeping in separate bedrooms when the fire broke out in one of the rooms.

The Daily News says firefighter Jordan Sullivan of Ladder 105 found the 5-month-old unconscious in a baby carriage.

The Sullivan, 36, graduated from the fire academy in December.

He handed the infant to another firefighter who rushed him to an ambulance.

The 8-year-old girl also was taken to a hospital. Both children were listed in stable condition.

Three other people, including another infant, also were injured in the blaze at 130 Third Avenue.

The infant was in serious condition.

An adult and another child had minor injuries.
