PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

Phoenix police are calling it a malicious crime, someone went into a phoenix home stealing items and stabbing the family's small dog to death. Police are hopeful a new piece of video will help lead them to the arrest of a suspect.

Authorities describe the suspects truck as a Ford F-150 with a tool box. In the surveillance video you can see it just briefly as it pulls into the victims house. Investigators hope someone out there knows who is driving this truck and that could lead them to an arrest.

"its just senseless, it's just very senseless," said the dogs owner Kimberly Mims.  in a previous interview with fox 10 Kimberly Mims talks about her heartbreak after coming home to not only find her house ransacked and burglarized but also finding her dog, Knuckles on the verge of death after being stabbed multiple times while it was in its kennel.

The small dog had to be put down it's injuries too severe to survive. This crime happened back on January 22nd. "Hopefully somebody sees this vehicle and knows of some idiots that there that could do such a horrible monstrous act," said phoenix police Sgt. Darren Burch.

"I'm a single mom I work hard and you know this is my first home that I've ever had I work hard for it I mean and for somebody to come in and just violate me like this its tearing me up on the inside," said Mims.

If you have any information on the vehicle or the crime you are asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
