ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -

Red Bull Crashed Ice hit the frozen banks of the Mississippi River in St. Paul for the third year in a row and smashed an all-time attendance record drawing 120,000 fans.

St. Paul boasts the only race in the U.S. but the event will also travel to Helsinki, Moscow and Quebec City.

On Saturday, ice cross downhill skaters competed in 4-man heats in a race to the bottom of a 400-meter track full of obstacles while traveling at speeds that likely appear uncomfortable in the eyes of the spectators. Team USA has brothers Daniel and Andrew Bergeson of Red Wing, Cameron Naasz of Lakeville, Reed Whiting of Rochester, Tyler Witty of New Prague and Brian Schack of Minneapolis.

The event will be broadcast nationally for the first time on Fox Sports 1 on Monday, Feb. 24 at 8:30 p.m. CT.
