Posted: Updated:

Fierce flames engulfed a condo on the 3600 block of north 67th Ave. around 3 a.m. Saturday morning.

Cynthia Salais took photos of the fire, she lives feet away and woke up to the sound of windows breaking.

"I just run to the window and i saw all the fire and i really quick called 911," said Cynthia Salaisis.

Salais saw the homeowner outside and made sure no one else was in the condo.

"I asked the lady from the house she told me there was no one else in there...she was just running and screaming for the house and was losing everything," she said.

Sandy Washington also saw the fire, "flames everywhere i mean it was all over it," she said.

Washington woke up to the sound of fire trucks arriving. She said that the woman who lived in the home had a young daughter. "Thank god that her daughter wasn't in the house she was with her daddy," she said.

The flames were intense enough that Salais took photos from behind her closed door. She said the fire spread quickly, "it started in the living room and it just go all the husband was trying to tell the other neighbors becadidn'te didnt know if someone else was living over there."

Salais said that her windows were hot but she was never evacuated by firefighters. "My kids they were sleeping in this room and the fire was going to the side and the window was really hot it was getting really hot," said Salais.

No one was injured but five people lost their home. The American Red Cross is assisting two of the residents, and the other three are getting helped by their families.
