Several hundred protesters gathered in front of the Arizona State Capitol Friday afternoon voicing opposition to a bill that would allow businesses to refuse service based on their religious beliefs.
FOX 10 sought anyone protesting in support of the bill but could not find anyone at the State Capitol. We did speak to several businesses who said they supported the bill but would not appear on camera fearing a backlash.
One woman, Maia Arneson, a voter is in support of the bill, "i believe Jesus loved people and we should love people. There is a difference between loving people and participating in something that goes against your core values". When asked if that meant doing business with them she replied "yes".
The bill now goes to the Gov. Brewer's desk. She has 5 days to sign the bill, veto it, or do nothing. If she chooses not to act it will become law.
