It can ruin a trip before it even starts. So do you have an idea how to make airport security better? Make the lines faster? If you do, it could earn you part of $15,000.

GLENDALE, Ariz. -

It's still a year away, but preparations are well underway for Super Bowl 49 which will be held right here in Arizona.

It takes thousands to get one of the biggest sporting events off the ground -- and the host committee is looking for some help.

The official Arizona Super Bowl web site has a countdown clock.  As of February 18, there are 347 days left until the Super Bowl -- and in that time, those with the host committee are hoping to find a few thousand volunteers to help the make this the best Super Bowl yet.

"I love our city and felt like I could offer some expertise to the fans coming into town," said Kim Tarnopolski, who is one of 2,500 people that have already signed up to be a volunteer for the Super Bowl, but a lot more are needed.

"We anticipate that we're going to have upwards of 10,000 volunteer opportunities," said Nan Ater, Senior Director of Hospitality and Volunteer Services for the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee.  "There's a whole lot of things that we'll be needing volunteers for."

Volunteers are needed for events starting this month -- up until the week leading up to the game -- and even at the Super Bowl itself.

"Anybody in Arizona who is looking for an opportunity to showcase our state and we really want people who are positive, enthusiastic and proud of Arizona to again help that visitor experience be the best it could possibly be."

Super Bowl volunteers will be everywhere.

"They're going to be greeting, answering questions assisting visitors throughout the state.  From the time they get off the plane to when they're at their hotel to when they're on transportation, we'll have some folks at the light rail," explained Ater.

Anyone who wants to be part of one of the biggest sporting events in the world is welcome to apply.

"I'm telling all my friends who love to volunteer and who love to get involved that it's a great opportunity to showcase our city," said Tarnopolski.

Once you sign up on the web site, they will send you a survey where you can fill out your availability and where you'd like to volunteer.

Again -- they're looking for about 10,000 folks to help.
