Video: Man Strikes, Robs Woman in Ogontz

WEST OAK LANE -

Police are searching for a suspect who robbed an 18-year-old woman in the Ogontz section of the city.

The incident happened on February 10 at 4p.m as the woman east on the 2100 block of Chelten Avenue as she was followed by an unknown man.

The woman was man passed her then slowed his pace. Police say as the woman attempted to walk past, he attempted to grab her bag from her left shoulder.

When she began to struggle with the suspect and knocked to the ground, the suspect was able to take the bag.

The suspect then fled the area on foot and was last seen west on the 2100 block of Chelten Avenue the north on the 6400 block of Norwood Street.

Video surveillance was recovered captured the suspect in a store with the complainant prior to the robbery.

The suspect is described as amid 30 to early 40 years-of-age, dark complexion, 5'8", 200 lbs., scruffy beard, wearing a black skull cap, blue hooded sweatshirt with "Giants" on the back, ash black colored jeans, black/white gloves, and boots.
