Boy With Cancer Gets Dream Visit To Mustang Plant

Posted: Updated:

A 9-year-old boy diagnosed with cancer has two wishes: a trip to Disney and to see a Mustang being built.

On Monday one of those dreams came true for Eli Williams when he toured the Flat Rock Assembly Plant, the only place in the world where the Mustang is built.

Eli also had the honor of running the plant for the day.

"It's a really unique story when you get a young man like this that really wants to come and visit the Mustang plant, and we're just so fortunate we could make it happen. ... And I have three thousand people that work here that are all extremely excited about Eli coming onto the factory floor and meeting with them," says plant manager Tim Young.

Eli is currently battling brain cancer for the second time. People in his hometown of Athens, Ala. also heard about his love for Mustangs and named a car show after him, and raised eight thousand dollars for St. Jude's Hospital where he's undergoing treatment.

Eli says the Mustang is his favorite because "it goes fast."
