FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -

A fresh dusting of snow fell on Flagstaff, just about 2 inches deep. "Any snow we have is wonderful," said Erik Gerharter.

Jay Lee was out for an early morning walk and remarked on the storm, "it's been snowing on and off," he said.

Gary Krcmarik was out in the cold but dressed in layers including a t-shirt and a windbreaker. FOX 10 asked him if he was warm enough for the snow, "yeah, as long as I don't stand out here and talk to you folks too long," he said.

Residents of the Northern, Arizona town were seen shoveling snow, "when it snows it's not that cold out... 28 degrees, not that cold and then we have events like we do downtown," said Erik Gerharter.

One of the events you can do in down-town Flagstaff is called the Alpine Pedaler where you're just surrounded by people peddling along. Brett Mierendorf explains the event, "its Flagstaff's 15 passenger human pedal trolly... We do pub crawls, wine tastings, everything from 8 year old birthday parties to 80-year old birthday parties."

It's an urban ski festival and kind of winter festival this weekend, the idea is to bring the mountain down to the city.

"We'll have another play area for small children who just want to sled and throw snowballs and the real action is going to happen here on the course, they'll be dropping in some features and you wont even recognize it it will be a real urban slope style course," said Joanne Hudson with the City of Flagstaff.

The ride up the hill to Flagstaff should be okay as lots of folks likely heading into town or up to Arizona Snowbowl.

"Drive slow... that's what we always tell the flatlander's, drive slow when you come up here" said Gary Krcmarik.

The event in downtown Flagstaff starts Saturday at 9 am and runs through Sunday.

And if you're looking to go skiing or snowboarding? Snow Bowl has reportedly gotten up to five inches of snow in the last 24 hours, 19 inches in last seven days.

They're having a special on Friday: Three lift tickets for $99 total; tickets are normally $59.
