Firefighters rescue injured man from Camelback mountain

PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

A man is recovering after he fractured his ankle while hiking in Echo Canyon and was rescued by firefighters.

Rescue crews responded before 10 a.m. Saturday and made their way to the injured man.

When they got there they discovered his injuries were non life threatening.

Acting-Captain Rayne Gray with Phoenix Fire said that emergency crews used a helicopter to hoist the victim off the mountain to a waiting ambulance on the ground.
