PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

The Super Bowl is the most watched show of the year in America and the National Retail Federation says it also helps lead to more than 12 billion dollars in spending.

Grazyna Fix stopped by the Basha's on 7th Street & Missouri to pick up some last minute Super Bowl party treats.

"Everybody decided just whatever they wanted to bring, everything is Super Bowl themed... we have orange or blue or green " said Fix.

According to the National Retail Federation of the 181 million Americans who plan to watch Sundays big game more than 3 quarters or 77% will purchase  food and beverages. 39 million viewers plan to throw a party and 62 million plan to attend one.

Assistant manager at Basha's Patrick Pole says preparations are well underway. "Super Bowl we expect a huge weekend. Its a busy here any ways and Super Bowl is a bigger holiday than most, its a national holiday...  it really is... and people come in and enjoy it and buy all their pre game and game time stuff" said Pole.

Along with food 8.1% of viewers plan to buy some type of team apparel for the game, 8.2% plan to buy a new television for the game.

"Football is fun it wish the cardinals were in it but that's not an option but it's more about everybody getting together having a good time" said Fix.

Whether it's about football or food the one thing Fix says Super Bowl is about celebrating and making the most of the big day.
