PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

A familiar face will be on the football field this Sunday.  Seattle Seahawks tight end, Zach Miller, is from Phoenix and quite a football career in Arizona before going pro.

"Everywhere I've been to have so much success and to finally get a chance to be in the Super Bowl something I've dreamed as a kid its just amazing and I'm so appreciative of it" said Zach Miller.

Zach Miller, the starting tight end for the Seattle Seahawks became a football star at Desert Vista High School in Phoenix. His coach, Jim Rattay, says he was an All-American.

"Zach, they used to call him manchild because he was still young but he had this body like a man and he played like a man" said Rattay.

Coach Rattay says at the time miller was one of the most recruited high school athletes in the history of the state getting visits to places like Notre Dame and Oklahoma. In the end though, he chose to play at ASU. "Greatness was kind of on the horizon for him" he said.

Miller was drafted by Oakland in the second round in 2007. He went to Seattle and was named to the AFC Pro Bowl squad in 2010. The tight end will start against the Broncos in the Super Bowl this Sunday.

"Zach is... he's Mr. Clutch... when they really need a play they'll either run it behind him or pass it to him he always comes through" said Rattay.

Coach Rattay, who now coaches at Cesar Chavez High School, still keeps in touch with Miller and hopes to see him next, with a superbowl ring on his finger.  "Absolutely, I'll have him over to my school he'll show it to all the players at Cesar Chavez and tell us all about it...it will be great for my kids to know there's a hope and a future" said Rattay.

Miller's brother, Brent also played for Desert Vista then for Arizona State. They shared tight end duties in 2006. He's now a local high school football coach.
