FOX10 helped to host a baby shower at the Waste Management Phoenix Open Tuesday. The shower honored military moms with husbands and boyfriends serving overseas.
Among the course at the Waste Management Open high on a hill near the 18th tee a patriot outpost sponsored by Birdies for the brave. A tent where 40 moms to be and new moms gathered to celebrate.
"Well this is great! It helps out a lot, I'm glad they do things like this for moms" sad Rosa Champman.
Rosa Chapman her husband Staff Sgt. Brett Chapman among the guests attending today's special baby shower. "I'm very grateful, were both very grateful I can't say thank you enough" said SSGT. Brett Chapman.
"My uncle was deployed he was in a command where there were four men whose wives back home were pregnant so I started those boxes" said Leann Morrisey.
"Operation Shower" is the brain child of Leann Morrisey. She started the non-profit six years ago in St. Louis and has hosted 41 baby showers. This is her second at the Waste Management Open
"The response that we got from the dads... how much It meant to them for people to recognize the wives back home, to remember them meant the world" said Morrisey.
Each mom to be receives a shower, in a box stuffed animals, bath toys, blankets, diaper bags... everything your would get at shower
"It means a lot it's hard when you have a small child and your husbands gone, so it just means a lot" said Danielle Arnold.
"It's amazing, these mom's are so deserving and it's great to be able to give back" said Kim Steogbauer.
Owner of the tomcat studio Kim Steogbauer styled the shower graciously donating her services like so many others. All the gifts are also provided at no cost. Gratitude for the men and women who sacrifice so much to serve our country.
