PHOENIX -

A popular Phoenix restaurant along a busy street goes up in flames overnight. We're talking about the Juliobertos restaurant near 32nd street and McDowell and when the sun came up it was easy to see the damage on the roof and side of the restaurant.

You could see the flames shooting through the roof at this Phoenix restaurant. Someone driving by called 911 at about 4:15 Tuesday morning and the restaurant owner got the call not long after.

"Scared a little bit but if it happens it happens there's a lot of damage in the restaurant" said Ricardo Castro the owner.

Restaurant owner Ricardo Castro still in shock after finding how much damage was actually done. Fire crews say the fire started near the drive through window in the kitchen.

"What you're looking at is a restaurant and a lot of counter space and then once you get into the back of the kitchen area its very hard to maneuver those lines and very easy to become trapped and entangled in some of the vent systems" said Capt. Jonathan Jacobs with Phoenix Fire.

With more than a dozen fire-fighters on the scene to put this fire out you can see areas like right here where the fire fighters poked through the roof to allow some of that smoke to escape out of the building

"There's a lot of damage inside the restaurant but everything is going to be taken care of" said Castro.

The plan is to rebuild  And open in 2 to 4 weeks

"We have to move fast to open the business we have to get everything done with the insurance and everything" said Castro.

The restaurant was closed for business, no one was inside at the time and no fire fighters were hurt. Crews believe the fire may have started with the hot deep fryer in the kitchen.
