SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

It's going to be nice weather for the start of the Waste Management Phoenix open, which kicks off Monday at TPC Scottsdale.

More seating at the famous 16th hole, a beach at the 18th hole, and a whole lot more security measures are just a few of the new things fans can expect this year.

As workers put the final touches on the course tournament officials want to let fans know don't bring large bags and prepare to be wanded by security.

"With us being the largest attended golf tournament in the world with 500,000 plus for the week we had to embrace this more than anybody so we reached out to Homeland Security, Scottsdale PD more importantly... Michael Bidwell from the Cardinals sat down and showed us how they do it in the NFL" said Tom King, Phoenix open tournament chairman.

King says the new security restrictions will be just like the rules for Arizona Cardinals fans at University of Phoenix stadium

No backpacks or large purses or diaper bags, workers will give your a clear plastic bag if you forget also new for fans this year tossing things in the garbage you're encouraged to bring your trash to these refurbished dumpster's.

"It's almost like a reverse concession stand fans can bring their materials to our volunteers and they can help them dispose of materials and answers questions about the recycling and compost bins around the course" said Janette Coates with Waste Management.

As for the action on the green while it's still up in the air as to whether Phil Mickelson will be playing here this week to defend his title 20 of the top 50 golfers in the world will definitely be teeing off Thursday.

"The field is shaping up in an international way and I mean that by a lot of international people coming over Japan, Ireland and the biggest one from Bangkok is coming
" said King.

Wednesday is the best day to catch celebrities. The annual Annexus Pro-AM, tees off at 8:30 in the morning.
