An Arizona State University fraternity has had their chapter permanently revoked following a racially-insensitive themed party was held off campus on January 19th.

ASU contacted TKE informing the fraternity of their decision Thursday evening. Officials are continuing to investigate fraternity members and students who attended the party for violations of the ASU Code of Conduct.

Dr. Michael Crow, President of ASU, spoke about the code of conduct for students. "At ASU, students who violate these standards will be subject to disciplinary sanctions in order to promote their own personal development, to protect the university community, and to maintain order and stability on our campuses."

ASU had previously suspended TKE for the part on January 20th and had conducted an investigation in the days following. The University alleges that the party may have allowed minors to consume alcohol. TKE had previously been placed on probation in 2012, Thursday's announcement ending 65 years the fraternity had been at ASU.

TKE issued a statement on January 21st 2014 as follows:"Tau Kappa Epsilon does not condone or support any actions by its members that would be defined as racist, discriminatory, and/or offensive. Social events with "party themes" that are defined as such have no place in our fraternity's mission or purpose. It is with embarrassment and regret when a few individuals within our organization make decisions that do not align with the values and principles of Tau Kappa Epsilon."
