Electrical workers get stuck in cherry picker

PHOENIX -

A couple of electric workers got stuck in their cherry picker basket after getting too close to power lines in a phoenix neighborhood late Tuesday night.

It happened in a neighborhood near 44th Street and University just before 11 p.m.

Rescue crews were called to the scene after the workers say they felt something called EMF, which are electro magnetic fields.

It's described as being a little stronger than static electricity.

Fire officials say when they felt those EMF's, the two workers either shut off the cherry picker or it shut itself off.

But when they tried to turn the machine back on so they could get down, it wouldn't turn on.

Rescue crews were called to the scene and SRP was called in to shut off the power.

As soon as the power was shut off, they were able to manually use the cherry picker to get the workers down.

Fire officials say the workers stopped working at the right time.

Luckily neither of them were injured.

SRP is calling it an operator error.
