PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

It happens in a blink of an eye, surveillance video shows a woman walking to her blue van in a busy Walmart parking lot at Southern & Rural around 6:30 p.m. Friday when police say a driver came barreling through the parking lot slamming into a red car and taking the woman out.

We showed the video to Gina Edwards who works in a business adjacent to the Walmart she left work just before the crash, she asked if the person is ok and according to authorities she is expected to be ok. "Ok that's good because she looks like she should have been killed from that kind of force so thank god she wasn't" said Edwards.

As shocking as it is to see, Tempe Police say the woman who was hit in the video is ok, even investigators were stunned. "I mean it's an incredible video, it's something that shocks the concious when you see something like that" said Sgt Mike Pooley with the Tempe Police Department.

Police say the driver of the white car, 31 year-old Christy Kupper was arrested for a number of charges including DUI. Investigators say her preliminary blood alcohol content level was above .20 almost three times the legal limit in Arizona.

Investigators say this all started at the intersection of Southern and Rural where Kupper allegedly hit one car that hit another car and tried to flee the scene going at a very high rate of speed through this Walmart parking lot.

"Thank god no one was hurt because that car is going pretty fast it looks like" said Edwards.

A total of four cars were damaged in thea ccident, Sky Fox video shows a string of debris in the store parking lot. As for the woman who was hit in the video, police say her five children were sitting in the van and saw what happened. Much to everyone's dismay, police say she was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

"Thank god her kids didn't see her get killed or something that's terrible" said Edwards.

Kupper is also facing charges for leaving the scene of an accident, aggravated assault, and endangerment.
