PEORIA, Ariz. -

Maricopa County Sheriff's detectives say an investigation revealed extensive child pornography sharing involving minors between the ages of 2 and 14 years old.

MCSO's computer crime detectives began investigating 40-year-old Stephen J. Austin back in November.  They say he shared the files on peer-to-peer software over the internet.

On Monday, investigators served a search warrant at his home near Cactus and 75th Avenue where they discovered 122 child porn images and videos on Austin's laptop computer and an external hard drive.

Authorities say Austin admitted to utilizing the peer-to-peer software to download and view the pornography.  He stated to detectives that he was the only one who had access to his laptop.  Austin told detectives he committed no actual hands-on offenses involving children and only looks at them on the computer.  He further stated that he looks at young girls, not young boys.

The police report states, "The images and videos found on the laptop and external hard drive from an initial
preview conducted by forensic technicians depicted girls between the ages of 2 -14 posing nude and involved in numerous sex acts with adults and other children."

Austin was booked into the 4th Avenue Jail on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, which is are class 2 felonies.  He is being held on a $25,000 bond.
