Escaping the cold by dunking in a hot tub and lounging in an ice bar

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

With temperatures well below freezing and icy snow everywhere you must dress for the elements. And while you'll never hear this in New York City, in one place the right thing to do is to take your layers off: Spa Castle in Queens.

Bye bye hat, jacket, neck warmer, shoes. Hello, flip flops. Spa Castle is an oasis in New York City. Forget the negative wind chills, temps here are in the triple digits. It features baths, whirlpools, and hot tubs -- both inside and outdoors.

While there I swore I could hear my mother's voice. Oh wait, I was -- on the phone.

Later we hurried up inside and checked out a place where it's still considerably warmer than outside: Minus5 Ice Bar in Midtown. No one was there. What's the matter, you New Yorkers? You're supposed to be tough.
