Posted: Updated:
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

Part 1:
Looking back: How did the city reduce crime in 2013?

Detroit crime is down almost across the board in 2013. The statistics show violent crimes dropped 7 percent in the past year. Homicides are down from 386 to 333. Do these numbers show the new leadership in Detroit police is on the right track? Or is the reduction and sample size too small to say?

On the panel:

Maxine Jones, Detroit business owner and resident
John Bennett, Detroit Police Officer and resident
Salvatore Aiello, founder of "Don't be afraid of Detroit"
Charlie Langton, Fox 2 Legal Analyst

Part 2:
Looking forward: How do we lower crime even further in 2014?

Police Chief James Craig says the department is just getting started. He's set a goal of reducing overall crime by 10 percent in 2014. Is the city capable of this reduction? What needs to happen to keep crime on the way down?

On the panel:

John Broad, President of Crime Stoppers
John Bennett, Detroit Police Officer
Ron Savage, Fox 2 reporter/anchor
Charlie Langton, Fox 2 Legal Analyst
