Remains found in northwestern Arizona identified

Posted: Updated:

TOPOCK, Ariz. (AP) - Mohave County authorities say the human remains found in the desert in the community of Topock last month have been identified.

The county Medical Examiner's Office identified the remains as those of 66-year-old Jimmy James.

They say the cause of death can't be determined, but the remains showed no trauma.

Authorities say James was a transient.

His remains were found Nov. 9 in Topock, which is located 34 miles southeast of Bullhead City.

Medical examiners were able to identify James from hardware in his leg inserted after an accident in San Diego in December 2010.
