Couple Sails Around The World For Eight Years

PHOENIX, AZ -

A lot of people dream of getting away from it all, and one Arizona couple did just that. They spent eight years on a boat in the Pacific Ocean!

Liz Haley looks at the pictures from the family's incredible adventure. They were at a Pearl farm in Tahiti. It was one of the sights they saw in their eight years on a boat sailing the Pacific Seas.

"When I met my husband, he told me he would sell his practice and sail around the world; five years later we, were doing it seems pretty crazy. It was awesome," said Haley.

Their boat is called The Rouge Scholarship, a 57 foot cutter, two beds and two baths. They were surrounded by sea creatures out there on their own.

"It's a big stress. We were isolated. It was tough on Liz; she missed her family…come home for a little visit around Christmas time," recalled husband Mark Haley.

And then it was back to the boat, visiting 25 countries around the Pacific Ocean. Their daughter was born in Australia. She has already visited eight countries.

"I am just lucky this is always a dream of mine to go sailing. I'm just lucky enough to have all my dreams keep coming true," said Haley.

Their boat is docked, but ready to go on another adventure.
