Detroit R&B artist Frank Fisher hosted an event for charity Thursday night. The event raised about $500 for the Interim House, a shelter for battered woman and their children. The money was to go for toys for Christmas.

Fisher stopped for gas on his way home from the event at a station near Plymouth Road and Wyoming Street in Detroit around 1:30 a.m. Friday.

He explains what happened next.

"I went in, you know, and I got a juice and I came to the counter, and a young man -- I put my keys on the counter and the young man snatched my keys off the counter. From then on, three guys whipped out guns on me and they told me to empty out my pockets," Fisher explains to Fox 2's Ron Savage.

Fisher handed over his jewelry, his cell phone and all the money raised at the charity event just hours before.

Fox 2 received a tip later in the day Friday that one of the suspects had returned to the gas station. We notified Detroit Police of the information, and two cars were sent to the scene within minutes. Police questioned the men and determined they were not involved in the armed robbery.

Detroit police continues to investigate. They are reviewing surveillance video from the gas station that shows the robbery. Police are also asking anyone with any information to contact the department.
