One of the great things about working in news is sometimes you see things you never expect -- like a guy giving himself a tattoo of Sheriff Joe Arpaio -- right on his belly and right in the Sheriff's office.
What a scene.
Whoa.. are we seeing double? Is that really a picture of Sheriff Arpaio tattooed on a man's belly? It is!
Is he flattered?
"Nothing surprised me right now," laughed the Sheriff.
Arpaio doesn't even seem too surprised that tattoo artist Bingo Badabing -- yes, that's his legal name -- wants to finish off his artwork by tattooing the sheriff's autograph below his picture -- right in the office on Wednesday.
"So what do I have to sign here, my name?" asked Arpaio.
"Just your name sir.. large.. not too large.. the bigger you sign, the more pain I'm in," replied Bingo.
So the sheriff keeps it small.
"People want my autograph.. he just puts it on his stomach," said Arpaio.
Bingo cuts it out, and yes, stencils it right on his stomach.
Time for the ink to flow. Bingo tattoos himself upside down -- pretty impressive -- and it doesn't take long.
"Now that will never come off."
Yep, that's forever. But why?
"You know, I respect what he does and I just thought it would be cool to memorialize it on me," said Bingo. "That way, it's something I have for the rest of my life."
Maybe not the legacy Sheriff Arpaio is hoping for, but hey, it's something... bada bing.
Bingo has tattoos of his favorite family members all over his body, so in a way, the sheriff just joined his family.
