Cyber Monday: Web Shopping Tips

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Cyber Monday will be a record day for web shopping. Sales today are expected to reach more than $82 billion!

So, many people are clicking away. But how do we really make it count? Financial expert Dan Roccato, visited "Good Day Philadelphia" Monday morning with some ways to help.

  • The website cybermonday.com lists all the deals by merchant you can expect to find during the day.
  • Pricegrabber.com will look for the specific product you want, and give you the cost and shipping costs across all merchants.

About 15 percent of online purchases are made through smart phones or tablets now, and these sites have been modified to comply with that.

Speaking of smartphones, there are some great apps out that can help you navigate Cyber Monday deals.

  • Retale shows you all the store flyers in your area.
  • Retail Me Not shows you specific items, how far it is from you, and the cost.
  • Using #CyberMonday on Twitter can help find deals as well.

Dan suggests using a credit card of PayPal rather than a debit card when online shopping, because credit cards are a little more secure.

Use trusted sites, look for free shipping and returns, and ask for price matching.
