Gina's People: Jack Ramsey 'Music Man'

Posted: Updated:

This week in Gina's People it's all about music. Our FOX 11 viewer, Jack Ramsey goes out of his way to help patients at Torrance Memorial Medical Center feel like they are at a concert hall.

He says, "When you share and you see the reaction of people, it feels good."

It feels good to the patients too. The sound of music always gets them out of their rooms. They know Jack Ramsey has arrived and is there to entertain.

Jack has been playing piano since he was 9 years old. For years, he's been showing up at Torrance Memorial to share his love of music. Patient Linda McGonegal never misses a beat. She tells Jack, "I want to say thank you for volunteering and I think that's the most wonderful thing that we have here are the volunteers." Even the doctors take a break from their busy schedules to listen to the music. Dr. Catherine Bannerman says, "It's fun for everyone, it lifts everybody's spirits. How can you not be happy listening to that?"

If you know anyone like Jack Ramsey making a difference in their community, please contact Gina Silva. Gina's People airs Monday mornings on FOX 11.
