AVONDALE, Ariz. -

Avondale Police say people riding quads discovered a woman's body floating in a canal Thursday morning near 103rd Avenue and Thomas Road.

There's no word on how she died or how long she had been in the water.

Officers say the woman was wearing a Diamond Industries shirt and has a tattoo on her right wrist that states "West."  She also has gauged earrings with a diamond picture on them, along with two piercings on her lower lip.

Sgt. Brandon Busse stated, "Through the course of the investigation the victim has been identified as 19 year old Payton Crane of Avondale."

Bussed added, "Payton has no apparent signs of trauma and was found face down in a canal."

If you have any information Payton's whereabouts the days before Thanksgiving, call the Avondale Police at (623) 333-7380 or contact Silent Witness at (480) WITNESS to remain anonymous.
