USC Trombones Surprise UCLA Students At The Beach

Posted: Updated:
Los Angeles, CA -

I was taking a beach cruise on Sunday with my little dog in tow when I happened across the distinct sound of the USC Trombones section, blasting out USC fight tunes on Dockweiler Beach.

What a sight!  When you hear those tunes you definitely know who that is. I pulled out my trusty iPhone to capture this magnificent and definitely once in MY lifetime extravaganza.  I have to say It was AWESOME!

I then see they were actually playing to a group of UCLA students that had also gathered a few fire pits away.  The USC band must have noticed the UCLA group and walked over to them.  It was a diss' festival. I was lucky enough to record the last song they were to play before the 9 trombone strong troupe walked triumphantly away.

UCLA students not to be outdone, but none the less slightly overwhelmed at the display, could do nothing but scream out the UCLA fight chant you hear at the games as loud as they possibly could.  It was definitely a fun time.  How lucky was I to come across this incredible, but definitely "had to be there" private event.

Here is for you to see but…you definitely had to be there!!!

Twins brothers with a YouTube channel filled with their pranks say they weren't trying to make a joke. Serious intentions or not, a park full of parents were not amused by their latest stunt. This video is a must-see!

Rat poison may be responsible for the sorry condition of a wild mountain lion in LA's Griffith Park. The mountain lion is known to the National Park Service as ‘P-22'.

I met the folks from Gunnar Optiks at CES this year and they had something new to show me. The Intercepts. I have a big head, these are big frames, it was kismet but do they work as good as they look? We'll see.
