Peter Bogdanovich in 'Cold Turkey'

Posted: Updated:
MYFOXNY.COM - Legendary director and actor Peter Bogdanovich shares the screen with Cheryl Hines and Alicia Witt in the new movie, Cold Turkey.

Wearing his trademark bandana during his appearance on Good Day NY, Bogdanovich said he wanted to set the record straight: "people say it's an ascot or a scarf, it's a bandana. I started wearing it on The Last Picture Show. It felt so cozy so I kept wearing it," said Bogdanovich.

Cold Turkey is about a dysfunctional family. Bogdanovich's character is a teacher who fools around with his students. The film took only two weeks to complete from start to finish.

"I started as an actor at 15, professionally. Even directing is an extension of acting. It's all a part of the same. It's easier to act. I don't have to worry about the budget," said the man behind hits including 'Paper Moon' and 'Mask.'

Cold Turkey opens Friday at Cinema Village, 22 E. 12th St., NYC.

Robert De Niro says Tribeca Film Festival is his passion

Robert De Niro is a family man, a filmmaker, an entrepreneur and one of my favorite actors of all time. He's also a co-founder of the Tribeca Film Festival, which has more to see than ever before. De Niro wears just as many hats on screen as he does in real life. The father of six starred in six films last year, owns four restaurants and a hotel, and still finds time each spring for the Tribeca Film Festival, Lower Manhattan's annual cinematic showcase.

There is not much relief in sight for allergy sufferers. Experts say a shortened spring due to the long winter may create a more intense allergy season.  Some allergists say they've already seen a noticeable increase in patients as the weather has gotten warmer.

The Heartbleed bug is no joke. Websites, social networks, services, networking equipment, and web-enabled hardware may all be vulnerable. Here are some steps to take right now: Use the LastPass Heartbleed checker to see if websites you use are vulnerable and/or if they have installed security patches. Check the website of the company that made your home router in case it has been compromised. Make sure to download any software updates and security patches. Change your passwords.
