Gunman opens fire on Bronx street

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - A man in the Bronx was shot point-blank range and the shocking incident was caught on surveillance camera video.

The gunman is seen approaching another man on Laconia Ave. in the Edenwald section of the Bronx and opening fire.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, survived. He ran off before the gunman could fire another round at a bystander who is also seen running away.

The first shooting victim was rushed to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition, said police.

The incident took place just after 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Cops are on the hunt for the gunman who is described by police as a black male who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and red sneakers at the time of the shooting.

    A NYPD plan intended to better connect with the community seems to have backfired a bit. The police department asked its twitter followers to share pictures of themselves with New York City police officers using the hashtag "myNYPD."
