FBI: Serial Robber Has Struck 8 Times In Suburbs

Posted: Updated:

The FBI and police say they're trying to identify a serial armed robber in the suburbs of Philadelphia.

The man has struck at least eight businesses in Bucks and Montgomery counties over the past three-and-a-half weeks, authorities say.

They've released six security camera photos of the man, hoping those along with information about the robberies could lead to his identification and arrest.

The dates and locations of the robberies were:

  • Oct. 21 – Saladworks, 314 Horsham Road, Horsham Township
  • Oct. 22 – Lukoil, 3401 W. Moreland Road, Upper Moreland Township
  • Oct. 24 – Jimmy John's, 3612 Welsh Road, Upper Dublin Township
  • Oct. 25 – Bank of America inside Giant Food, 1121 Bethlehem Pike, Lower Gwynedd Township
  • Nov. 1 – Bank of America inside Weis Market, 25 West Germantown Pike, East Norriton
  • Nov. 7 – PNC Bank inside Giant Food, 760 Route 113, Hilltown Township
  • Nov. 8 – Citizens Bank inside ACME, 505 W. Butler Avenue, New Britain Township
  • Nov. 12 – Bank of America inside Giant Food, 1121 Bethlehem Pike, Lower Gwynedd Township, PA (attempted robbery)

The man has displayed a handgun during several of the robberies, police say. He's described as a white male in his 30s, approximately 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build and brown hair. He has frequently been seen with facial hair or stubble.

Among the items he's known to wear are a red Phillies cap, a black jacket with a light-colored stripe across the chest, a green baseball cap with a pink brim, and a blue hooded sweatshirt. He's also been known to carry a green recyclables bag in which he puts the stolen money.

Police say he has been observed in a silver four-door sedan at multiple robbery scenes.

Authorities say to consider the man armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about him is urged to call the FBI at 215-641-8910.

There may be a reward for information leading to this subject's capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.

    NICE EASTER WEEKEND

The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.

Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon.  High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.

It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s.  Quiet conditions continue into Monday.
