Philadelphia Police Arrest Officer, Charge Him With Assault

PHILADELPHIA -

Philadelphia Police have arrested Lt. Marques Newsome and charged him for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.

According to police, Newsome, 36, is a 16 year old veteran of the 35th district. On October 27th, according to investigators, he got into a verbal argument with his girlfriend and then physically assaulted her.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles H. Ramsey has suspended Newsome for thirty days with the intent to dismiss.
