Police: 24 Bags Of Cocaine, Pills, Weapon Seized In Del.

NEWARK, Del. -

Delaware State Police say they've arrested a Newark man who allegedly had a large quantity of cocaine and pills as a result of a long-term drug investigation.

James H. Groce, 42, has been charged with drug possession, possession with intent to deliver, fire arms violations and related counts, state police said.

Authorities say Groce was the target of their investigation, and he was arrested Tuesday morning when he was seen leaving his home on the 200 block of Arrowwood Drive.

A search of his vehicle resulted in recover of 22 bags of cocaine, totally 47.9 grams, plus 29 Oxycodone pills and $1,000, plus another $1,581 found on Groce himself.

When they searched Groce's home, investigators say they found 2 more bags with 114.9 grams of cocaine, 11 more Oxycodone pills plus 25 Phentermine pills, a 9-mm Glock handgun and ammunition.

Groce's cash and vehicle were seized. State police said he's being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institute on cash bail set at $136,000.
