LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for the 2011 bludgeoning death of his uncle in Lake Havasu City.

Judge Steven Conn sentenced 45-year-old Jeffrey Paul Costa on Friday in Mohave County Superior Court.

The Today's News-Herald reports that Costa could have been sentenced to up to 22 years on his conviction for second-degree murder in the killing of 62-year-old Wayne Lopez.

The killing occurred during an argument. Costa was staying at Lopez's home at the time.

He fled in his uncle's car to Long Beach, Calif., where he turned himself in to authorities after Lake Havasu City police identified him as a possible suspect.
