FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -

Some parents are upset after they say their children suffered injuries while riding a school bus in Fulton County.

According to several parents, a driver taking home students from Fulton Sunshine Academy on Wednesday got upset with the children. The students claim the bus driver slammed on the brakes in the middle of a busy road, tossing the kids around. They said the driver then began yelling at them.

Parents took at least two students to the emergency room after they complained about injuries once they got off the bus.

Janine Ramirez said she had to pry the bus door open to get a response from the driver after she saw that her daughter was hurt. She said the bus driver slammed the door on her.

According to hospital paperwork, Kyra Ramirez suffered a concussion and will be out of school for at least 48 hours.

Parents said the driver should have reacted differently, even if the students were misbehaving.

"If there is a problem with the children, tell the parents so we can address our child," said Janine Ramirez.

One parent said she had to pry the bus door open to get a response from the driver.

Fulton County School spokesperson Susan Hale told FOX 5 that they have removed the bus driver from that route while they investigate the claims.

Fulton County school buses are equipped with cameras. Hale said they are reviewing the tape and could not release it to FOX 5 on Friday as they need time to blur out the children's faces.
