Trains are back up and running Thursday afternoon after the power went out across the Phoenix light rail line.
When the power went out at 1:13 p.m., trains came to a sudden stop. The lights went out and the A/C stopped working.
"We just had to wait for like 40 minutes for the light rail," said rider Edward Fair.
Power was restored and trains were operational again around 2:10 p.m.
There were a few delays but trains are now back to their normal operating schedule.
Passengers were reminded to pay attention to the announcements at the trains or stations.
"Our operations teams have been working to repair the system so we can get passengers safely to their destinations," stated Susan Tierney, communications manager for Valley Metro. "We appreciate the patience of all riders during this brief service disruption."
At this time, the cause of the outage is unknown.
